Southwest Computer Outages Force Airline to Cancel
Southwest Airlines dealt with flight cancellations and passenger frustration on Wednesday
after a computer outage on Tuesday and complications with a third-party weather data provider.
When the weather data source failed, the airline delayed 1,500 flights on Monday, according to The Associated Press.
A technology issue grounded planes on Tuesday, forcing the airline to cancel hundreds more flights and delay over 1,000.
An FAA spokeswoman informed the AP that Southwest departures were halted for 45 minutes.

On Wednesday morning, Southwest told USA Today, "While our technology issues from Tuesday have been resolved, we are still
experiencing a small number of cancellations and delays across our network as we continue working to resume normal operations."
The spokesman said "We appreciate our customers' patience as we work to get them to their destinations as quickly as possible."
