Domino's digital ordering is changing. The pizza chain is revamping its website and smartphone app to improve delivery and carryout
ordering. Kelly Garcia, chief technology officer, said these platforms will have a modern appearance and feel and "romance through new visualizations
The chain is also simplifying digital navigation to increase product research and reduce clicks. Every part of the chain's website will load
faster. Garcia said this new digital experience will be provided in stages starting in January. The new website should launch in Q4 2024.
Customers can also expect more customisation during ordering. A personal pizza-ordering helper is one way it does this. This tool,
developed with Microsoft, will employ generative AI to simplify ordering by showing customers their whole order before they place it.
Domino's is also implementing Dom.OS, a proprietary operating system, for employees. Kelly calls this system a "collection of smart
tools," managing operations from order placement to delivery. "He keeps one of those eyes on the customer and the other on store operations," he said.
Besides this OS, Domino's will beta test a new labor tool in 2024. This technology, used with Domino's forecasting tool, improves employee schedules and flexibility.
Along with in-store technology, Domino's wants new ovens to improve kitchen operations. Initial installations will be in new and corporate locations.
